We Work With Cooks
The Cooks’ Alliance is a network of professional cooks who are working to defend food biodiversity. Across the world, knowledgeable cooks are the guardians of our gastronomic traditions, innovators of ingenious culinary techniques and the disciples of food culture. Using their heads and their hands, cooks use recipes to tell stories of the sea and the land, teaching us more about our own cultures and taking us on journeys of discovery. The cooks must commit to using as many ingredients as possible that are good, clean and fair, including fish and seafood from Slow Food projects (like the Presidia and the Ark of Taste) or from virtuous fishers who diversify away from the most commonly-caught species and respect marine habitats.
