What we do
Earth Markets: A worldwide network of community run farmers’ markets based on the Slow Food philosophy. The markets strengthen local food networks and bring consumers together with local small-scale producers and family farmers, ensuring fair prices for both.
Presidia projects: More than 300 around the world provide direct support to around 10,000 small-scale producers, allowing them to continue producing local foods that in turn helps ensure the sustainability of the entire community.
Terra Madre food communities and Slow Food convivia around the world raise awareness of local food traditions and develop countless initiatives to support local small-scale producers.
In 2013, Slow Food signed a memorandum of agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) – signed by José Graziano da Silva, the director-general of the FAO, and Carlo Petrini, the president of Slow Food.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Slow Food partnership, started in 2009, is based on a shared vision in the fight against poverty and hunger in developing countries by supporting small-scale productions.
