Long-time friend of Slow Food, leader of the Slow Food Zaragoza Convivium (one of the first convivia in Spain), and promoter of the Ballobar Caper Presidium and Jiloca Saffron Presidium, Jorge Hernández Esteruelas has passed away.
Jorge was one of the founders of Slow Food in Spain and had a long career working in various associations. As an agronomic engineer, he worked on sustainable rural development in Aragón, and he was a professor at the Polytechnic University
Jorge was mindful of the connections between food and health and worked in collective catering: he was president of Mensa Civica, a platform for dialogue open to local and regional governments, NGOs, and associations of producers and consumers who are committed to improving catering services in various areas of society (schools, hospitals, etc.).
Thank you for your commitment, Jorge!
