For three days Turin will become the European market capital thanks to the 2nd Torino Food Market festival from April 21-23.
Hundreds of stands and stalls will pack the city’s streets and piazzas, especially in the area round Porta Palazzo, displaying the finest crafts and food products from all over Europe. The event will also feature conferences, exhibitions, world music and tastings.
The 2nd Torino Food Market Festival, the brainchild of Conservatoria delle Cucine del Mediterraneo del Piemonte, is promoted and sponsored by the City of Turin and The Gate, the consortium created to revamp the old market area of Porta Palazzo.
Elda Tessore, the city spokesperson on Trade and Promotion, states that ‘ The central aim is to promote and enhance the culture of food markets, seen as trading spaces alternative to large-scale distribution’.
