Terra Madre Day is being celebrated today with more than 170,000 people taking part in 1,140 events in communities across 125 countries to promote eating locally and sustainable food production. Organized by the global Slow Food network of convivia, Terra Madre food communities and partner organizations supporting good, clean and fair food, communities are coming together in collective meals, local food festivals, rallies, seminars, workshops for children, excursions to producers and much more, demonstrating the diversity and life of the movement.
From Afghanistan to Venezuela, follow what is happening over the next few days here on Terra Madre Day website, where we will be posting stories, photographs and videos from across the globe in eight languages.
Thank you to all who are participating in Terra Madre Day, no matter how large or small your activity. By celebrating and working to protect our local food systems, together we are building a global revolution.
