In the Netherlands, phosphate restrictions mean farmers may abandon rarer, less productive breeds. The Stichting Zeldzame Huisdierrassen (SZH – Foundation for Rare Breeds) is actively working to save these rare breeds, including a Slow Food Presidium, the Lakenvelder Cattle.
