Slow Food Heroes: Call for Stories
Do you have a project that happened during the Covid-19 pandemic around food and solidarity? Share it with us!
At the end of summer, we would like to launch a collection of solidarity initiatives that have occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, to give space to all the Slow Food Heroes that have helped strengthen the sense of solidarity in times of Covid-19 and have given hope for the future, through food!
WHEN AND HOW TO SUBMIT?
You are welcome to submit your Slow Food Heroes stories and experiences here or via email at [email protected]
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Positive examples of past and existing food-related initiatives and experiences from all over Europe. We are accepting stories from both individuals and groups or communities!
Through these stories, we aim to highlight experiences that can be replicated and positively impact our current food production and consumption system. We envision that by sharing their stories, our Slow Food Heroes will be able to inspire and guide people towards new ways of using food as a vehicle of building a more resilient and community-centered society.
WHO CAN BE SLOW FOOD HEROES?
Cooks, producers, workers and community leaders of all ages and backgrounds, in Europe, who have launched initiatives related to food production, distribution and consumption to tackle the pandemic.
WHAT WE NEED:
- Written stories of food-related initiatives in Europe that explain how they have supported people and communities in need during the Covid-19 crisis;
- High definition photos of the Slow Food Heroe(s) and the activities they have carried out.
HOW WILL THE STORIES BE USED?
The stories will be gathered in an online photo exhibition, on www.slowfood.com, as well as a physical exhibition – most likely in Turin, Italy, in 2022.
