Slow Food Three Glass Award Winners

05 Апр 2001 | English

On May 14, from 5-9pm at the Puck Building Slow Food, members will have the opportunity to taste over 150 of the best Italian red and white wines that have won the highest honor, the Three Glass Award, in the Slow Food and Gambero Rosso Guide to Italian Wines 2001. The historic Puck Building will host over 1,500 people who will meet the producers and taste the fruits of their labor. A buffet will also be served.
Gambero Rosso and Slow Food, which collaborate on the publishing of the Guide each year, met in 2000 to blindly select the best wines of Italy. Good wines receive One Glass awards, great wines receive Two Glasses and superior wines receive Three Glasses. It is these Three Glass winners that have been invited to New York. The Three Glass winners from 2000 have already participated at similar events in Torino and in Berlin. This annual tradition of events is meant not only to congratulate the best Italian wine producers in any given year, but also to introduce these wines to Slow Food members and subscribers to the Gambero Rosso magazine. If you would like to attend this free tasting, please call Slow Food USA at 212-988-5146 to become a member or sign up via this website. All active Slow Food members have the right to attend this one of a kind event, and is the only opportunity for Americans to taste the best of the best all in one place. For more information on the Italian Wines Guide, please contact Slow Food for a copy. Since its first printing in 1988, the Guide has become the ultimate reference work for Italian wines.
