NEW U.S. VERSION OF MAJOR INTERNATIONAL SLOW FOOD EVENT SET FOR SEPT. 2025
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Slow Food and Visit Sacramento officially announced today that the second edition of ‘Terra Madre Americas’ – the U.S. iteration of Slow Food’s famed ‘Terra Madre Salone del Gusto’ – will take place in Sacramento, CA. Sept. 26-28th.
Similar to its international sister event, Terra Madre Americas will showcase an expansive array of foods, coffee, wine and more from across the Americas, along with educational sessions, interactive exhibits, cooking demonstrations, appearances by renowned chefs like Jeremiah Tower and Alice Waters, and much more.
“The second edition of Terra Madre Americas is an important opportunity for visitors to experience the extraordinary food biodiversity and cultural richness of the American continent, from north to south,” said Paolo di Croce, Director General of Slow Food. “As with all our events, the culinary aspect is closely linked to education and awareness. Our goal is to celebrate and protect both food and cultural biodiversity, with local producers and communities at the heart of the movement.”
To add to the event experience, Visit Sacramento will host elements from its popular Farm-to-Fork Festival, featuring local and California foods, wine and beer, along with a concert series headlined by the band ‘The War on Drugs.’ The result will be a one-of-a-kind culinary convergence for attendees to explore. Terra Madre Americas will be admission-free.
“Sacramento is honored to welcome Terra Madre Americas to our city,” said Visit Sacramento President & CEO Mike Testa. “Our region’s agricultural prowess, combined with our internationally recognized commitment to culinary excellence, made for an ideal partnership with Slow Food as they searched for a home for this event in the United States.”
Terra Madre Americas will be held in Sacramento’s SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, with other events and experiences – including the concert series – taking place in downtown Sacramento around the Convention Center. Registration for education sessions and other experiences will open later this summer at terramadreusa.com. Those interested in exhibiting can fill out the Terra Madre Americas Exhibitor Application here.
More details about the event will be released over the coming months at terramadreusa.com.
