Slow Food Ireland’s First Annual Weekend

24 Feb 2003 | English

In recent years, Ireland has experienced a veritable a food revolution. Through farmers’ markets and specialist retailers, more and more artisan producers are offering consumers an incredible array of the finest quality foods. Slow Food Ireland’s first Annual Weekend, to be held at the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery on March 28-29-30, will provide a wonderful opportunity to discover and enjoy these foods and to meet the people who create them.
The event will feature workshops, demonstrations, seminars, a private market selling fresh, local food, traditional Irish meals and specially organized culinary excursions, guided by the likes of food writer John McKenna, food historian Regina Sexton and chef Darina Allen.

The venue overlooks the ocean in West Cork, one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, and the hosts will be some of the country’s leading producers, chefs, food writers and commentators.
