Slow Food Ireland Guide
02 Sep 2004 | English
The second Slow Food Ireland guide is bigger and better and growing organically from the first edition, published in 2003. Edited by Clodagh McKenna, the guide provides very helpful information on Ireland’s artisan food producers, local Farmer’s Markets, quality retail outlets and even some linked organizations and groups. In fact, this guide should be kept beside the telephone book in every serious food lover’s home!
Photographs by John Minihan and design by Lorenzo Tonti add to the attraction of this little book, and the introduction by Slow Food founder Carlo Petrini adds exceptional credit to the growth of the Slow Food Movement in Ireland today. Most importantly, at the back of the book is a membership form and details, and it is hoped that every non-member who comes across this book will be inspired to join. The influence of the movement on environmental, agricultural and retail policies in Ireland is linked directly to the size of the National membership.
At a mere €5, the guide is a gift to all your good friends at your next dinner party, a stocking-filler for the foodie and a must for deli-owners. Single copies cost €6 including €1 p & p. Wholesale prices also available. The latest issue of the Slow Food Guide to Irish Slow producers is now available. The price is €6 including p&p.
