General Secretary of the Slow Food Foundation of Biodiversity, Serena Milano, at the Slow Food Canada National Conference

23 Apr 2013 | English

Serena Milano, General Secretary of the Slow Food Foundation of Biodiversity*, will participate in the Slow Food Canada National Conference from April 25-28, 2013, at the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos, British Columbia, joining Canadian convivium leaders, to discuss the challenges and future of the association in the country.

A key focus of Milano’s participation will be the Ark of Taste project, Slow Food’s worldwide catalogue of quality traditional foods at risk of extinction. Milano will elaborate on the project and provide updates on the project that will support the future work on the project in Canada, where it already has 14 products listed in the catalogue and where a national commission manages new product nominations. During the conference Milano will deliver two speeches, a general one about the strategies of Slow Food International and the Foundation’s projects and a second one focused on the Ark of Taste Project and its direction in the next few years.

The motto of this year’s Slow Food National Conference in Osoyoos is “Nourish the senses” and the Thompson Okanagan Convivium, which will host the conference in their region, warmly invites the public to sign up and join the conference with the following program:
