Community Founding Declaration
The founding declaration for communities was made official at the Slow Food International Council meeting in Kenya in June 2018, but it is a constantly evolving document that each local area and each network can choose to make their own, adapting it to their own language and context.
The first part, the most important, outlines an adhesion to the ideals and values of Slow Food and reasserts the centrality of the community as a way of bringing people together that represents and promotes a system based on knowledge, relationships, inclusion, emotional security and democracy.
The second part describes the organizational model of the community, while the third part clearly defines the community’s objective and commitments.
