Slow Food is a global grassroots movement, and the Slow Food Foundation is the coordinating legal entity.
Local
Our grassroots movement is articulated in more than 2000 local groups. Convivia are groups of individuals who subscribe to Slow Food and promote it in their local area. Communities are groups who come together to work toward a specific objective or theme.

These structures exist where the network is well developed, can sustain its activities as well as the development of the global movement.
International
The Slow Food Foundation is the legal home of our grassroots movement. It is a non-profit organization which pursues civic, solidarity and socially useful purposes through the creation and maintenance of a network of local communities.

Slow Food is governed by an international Board of Directors, which is its highest governing body. Strategic decisions develop from a close dialogue between the International Board of Directors, the International Council and the Slow Food headquarters.
