University of Gastronomic Sciences
The University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG) came to being in 2004, the first university of its kind, offering a holistic approach to food studies.
The uniqueness of its courses has brought students from virtually every country in the world to study at the campus in Pollenzo, Italy, attracted by the school’s innovative multidisciplinary model that combines humanities and sciences with sensory training and first-hand experience of artisanal and industrial food production with study trips around the world.
UNISG offers undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees and a high apprenticeship program. The aim is to create a new understanding of gastronomy and a new professional – capable of linking the act of eating with the act of producing, along with all phases in between. After graduation, alumni discover a wide range of professional opportunities, including from marketing for food companies, tourism, food production and distribution, writing and consulting.
