Organized for the first time in 2011 in Jokkmokk, Sweden, Indigenous Terra Madre was Slow Food’s first event dedicated entirely to Indigenous peoples. The event brought together representatives of Indigenous communities from around the world to discuss how to bring their knowledge and vision of food production into modern times. The next Indigenous Terra Madre meeting will be held in Meghalaya, northeast India in 2015.
