Wines at auction with Bolaffi and Slow Food Editore
20 Nov 2019

Oenologists and wine enthusiasts from all over Italy, and the world over, save the date: Thursday 21 November.
An auction of rare and fine wines organized by Slow Food Editore in collaboration with Aste Bolaffi, will take place on November 21 2019. The catalog includes 970 lots of European wines, from Italy to France, passing through Germany, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal and Spain, to go overseas with a selection of wines from the US.
A peek at the catalog
This year’s catalog includes names of prestigious wineries dedicated to themes dear to Slow Food – first and foremost that of biodiversity – underlining the strength of this event, which for the third year distinguishes Aste Bolaffi for its ability to be daring in its attempt to innovate a sector that is increasingly at risk of appearing stuffy and resistant to change, especially in the eyes of younger consumers. This ability to be daring is seen, for instance, in the catalog’s inclusion of the winery Castello di Monsanto, a historic winery for which Slow Food Editore dedicated some tastings during the past Salone del Gusto. A cellar capable of churning out labels that age sensationally, and which perhaps have not yet come to the attention of wine enthusiasts as much as they deserve. The winery, forward-looking as it builds up its collection of old vintages, gives auction customers the possibility of buying directly from the company “vault” as well as a further guarantee of quality in terms of their storage.
Finally, we must emphasize the catalog’s extraordinary focus on Burgundy, the mecca of every “enostroppato”, containing a beautiful 270 lots: truly a treasure that will not go unnoticed and will be a dream come true for wine enthusiasts from Italy and beyond, who can choose to attend the auction in person, or remotely through digital platforms or by telephone.
Be sure to mark the date: tomorrow, Thursday November 21st at 10 am, Sala Bolaffi in Turin!
More detailed information on the catalog and the program can be found in the press release published by Slow Wine and on the appointment page on the Aste Bolaffi website.
