Wine Renaissance

26 Mar 2007

EXCLUSIVE – On April 1-2 next, Ca’ Scapin, Via Ca’ Sentieri 14, Santa Maria di Zevio (Verona) will be the venue for a meeting of members of the Renaissance des AOC movement, and Triple ‘A’, the self-regulation producers’ group.

Renaissance des AOC is the name of a group founded in 2001 by Nicolas Joly, a Savennieres winemaker, which brings together vignerons from France and abroad (118 from 12 countries) who work with biodynamics.

The event will be attended by 41 producers from France, including Clos de la Colée de Serrant, Domaine Zind Humbrecht, Domaine Leflaive, Domaine Prieuré Roch and Domaine de Trevallon, 26 from Italy and 18 from Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Lebanon, South Africa and, for the first time in Italy, three producers of wine in pitchers from Georgia.

At 12noon and 3pm on the two days of the event, four conferences will be held on the subjects of biodynamics, yeasts, sulphites and GMOs. Roberto Burdese, president of Slow Food Italy, will speak at the first.

A press room will be available for journalists.
