VIDEO: Slow Food Youth Network USA’s Disco Soup
07 May 2014
The Disco Soup – the trademark event of the Slow Food Youth Network (SFYN) – is catching on around the world! A high-energy event, young volunteers come together to cooking a giant soup from vegetables destined for the dump. In the USA, students from three U.S. states – New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts – saved 1,000 pounds (around 450kg) of leftover crops from farms and used it to cook up 120 gallons (around 540L) of soup for local food banks, all to the beat of a live disco band.
