Slow Food at Green Week!
03 Jun 2015
From 3 to 5 June 2015, the European Commission is organizing Green Week: Europe’s largest annual conference on environmental policy. Representatives from governments, business, industry, NGOs, academia and the media will meet in Brussels to debate and exchange ideas on this year’s theme, “Nature and Biodiversity”.
Various workshops and debates will be held under the slogan “Our Health, Our Wealth”.
Slow Food will play an active role at this event. Ursula Hudson, President of Slow Food Germany, will speak at the conference “Farming for Diversity”, where she will focus on the relevance of agrobiodiversity for food security and sustainability, as well as long-term economic growth.
The conference will also include a tasting of Belgian Ark of Taste products, presented by their producers. The aim of the tasting session is to show concrete examples of the relevance of biodiversity and our role as consumers to promote it.
Slow Food will also be present with an exhibition stand, with information material on food biodiversity and further tastings of Ark of Taste.
