Slow Fish: Towards a New Vision of Fisheries

From 14 – 17 May, the old port of Genoa will be taken over by a fish market, street food trucks and tents hosting a wide range of workshops and conferences. The biennial Slow Fish event is one of the most important dates in the Slow Food calender, bringing together the international network that works daily on the issues central to the related campaign. 

During the event, experiences and stories will be shared, as academic experts, political representatives, chefs and journalists meet with members of fishing communities from around the world. 

Ahead of the event, Slow Food has released a new report. The document presents case studies from the network, as well as examples of Slow Food projects working to preserve the work of small-scale fishing communities, such as products listed on the Ark of Taste and Presidia projects working directly with fishers. It also takes a closer look at how to challenge the dominant narrative and exposes the myth of the tradegy of commons…
