Madame la pomme de terre

22 Sep 2008

Since the National Day of the Potato, which Slow Food France celebrated on September 15 2007, French convivia have been collaborating with CNIPT http://www.cnipt.com/ (National Interprofessional Committee for the Potato) and Le Cordon Bleu cooking school to publish Madame la pomme de terre, a small guide for potatoes.

The project aims to record and publicize the recipes proposed by Slow Food members in France, involving as many different varieties of potato as possible, and highlighting their quality and diversity. It is an embodiment of the Slow Food spirit, inspired by a desire to defend biodiversity and share a pleasure in taste. When the recipes had been collected, collaborators began to work on the publishing project, creating an inviting package to accompany the rich content by including a small poster with interesting images and information.
