Slow Food is the Good News: In Conversation with Alice Waters

Last Friday, June 22, chef, activist, and Slow Food Vice President Alice waters received an honorary degree from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy. The pioneer of California cuisine, and the creator and driving force behind the Edible Schoolyard Project, Waters was recognised for her huge contribution to gastronomy and the culture around food in the United States and abroad.

She was kind enough to speak with us about the importance of food and taste in various aspects of life, from education to politics and the environment. She spoke of Slow Food’s unique role in the “delicious revolution” that is “bringing people back to their senses.”
