In the coming days, Carlo Petrini will travel to Brazil to promote the Slow Food philosophy

Carlo Petrini, president and founder of Slow Food International, will talk about the importance of promoting good, clean and fair food, and about the international Menu for Changecampaign, which highlights the link between food and climate change: with food, we can and must make a difference.

Below are the events that Carlo Petrini will attend in Brazil in the coming days:

  • Wednesday, January 24, at 9 a.m., in the film library of Rio Branco Public Library, Carlo Petrini will launch the first edition of the book on Ark of Taste products in Brazil, entitled A Arca do Gosto no Brasil. Alimentos, conhecimentos e histórias do patrimônio gastronômico (The Ark of Taste in Brazil. Food, knowledge and stories of gastronomic heritage). He will also give a talk on the Value of Biodiversity for a Sustainable Economy. During his visit to Brazil, Carlo will visit the indigenous peoples of the Amazon and honey producers in Belo Jardim.
  • On Saturday, January 27, Carlo Petrini will attend FRUTO, an event that will be held in São Paulo (Brazil) and will be attended by 30 of the most important representatives from the sustainability, science and gastronomy sectors, as well as industry representatives, to discuss strategies and alternatives to feed the growing global population. Carlo will give a talk on The power of change. How Slow Food can change the World, in which he will discuss his vision of food sociology and about how it is possible to feed the growing global population without depleting environmental resources.
