Awards Galore
19 Oct 2007
EXCLUSIVE – Traditions & Qualité – Les Grandes Tables du Monde has assigned an award especially created by the Parisian jewellers Lalique to Carlo Petrini, Slow Food international president, for his work in favour of food that is ‘simple and natural and conserves the equilibrium of the environment’.
The prize was presented to Petrini on Monday October 15 in the course of a ceremony at the Hotel Majestic in Cannes.
Traditions & Qualité instituted this special award ‘to highlight the great work carried out by an exceptional man recognized the planet over’. This year it decided that Carlo Petrini fitted the bill.
This is the first time that Traditions & Qualité – Les Grandes Tables du Monde has assigned its special award to a non-chef, thereby acknowledging the value and merit of Slow Food’s international activities.
