Slow Fish in Action
Slow Sea Land
Slow Sea Land, organized by Slow Food Italy and the Sicily Regional Authority, will be held form June 8th to 10th in Mazara del Vallo, near Trapani in Sicily. Entirely dedicated to the main products from around the Mediterranean basin, like fish and seafood, fruits and vegetables, olive oil, bread, sweets and wines, the event will develop the complex and diverse themes relating to this kaleidoscopic geographical context.
The aim is to promote not only the Mediterranean products, but also intercultural dialog and relationships through street markets, debates, seminars, live music, performances and meetings between people from around the Mediterranean and beyond.
The event will be held in the kasbah in Mazara's historic center. As it is also intended as an opportunity to communicate Sicily's gastronomic and agricultural assets, there will be plenty of activities based around education and tasting. Sicilian convivia are closely involved in the event, especially in the organization of Taste Workshops.
A number of institutional meetings (Mediterranean Fishing Observatory, State-Regions Conference and others) will be held at the same time as the event, including the Slow Food International Council.
