We’re Fed Up!
Germany -
24/01/2013
More than 20,000 people took to the streets of Berlin on January 19, for the "Wir haben es satt" (We’re fed up!) rally, organzied by Slow Food Germany and partner organizations to demand better food and agriculture in Europe. A day earlier, more than 800 kilos of vegetables were saved from waste and transformed into a "protest soup" at the Schnippeldisko - a mass "chopping and cooking" action against food waste with DJs organized by the Slow Food Youth Network in Germany.

Common Fisheries Policy towards a final agreement
Belgium | 10/05/2013
The Irish EU Presidency is determined to reach agreement at least
on the key items of controversy: stock recovery, discards, capacity
management and regionalisation. In order to do that, the Irish
fisheries minister, Simon Coveney, needs an updated negotiation
mandate from his 26 colleagues. This is being discussed this week
by the permanent representatives of EU member States in Brussels,
and will likely be concluded at the Fisheries Council next Monday
and Tuesday, May 13th & 14th. This Fisheries Council meeting could
prove to be one of the most important meetings of the reform
process.
