Food Film Festival
Netherlands
-
13 Mar 12
After an encouraging first edition in 2011, the Food Film Festival is back this year from March 16-18 at Studio/K in Amsterdam thanks to the efforts of the Slow Food Youth Food Movement Netherlands.
Festival events include screenings of food-related films, cooking classes, concerts, a farmers’ market and an art and design program. This year’s theme, in perfect harmony with October’s Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre, is Food for Change, in the belief that an informed and positive approach to food is the first step towards more sustainable production. In particular, there will be a focus on the attempt to build closer relationships between city and countryside, something which is essential to our future and the need for local and seasonal consumption to become widespread.
At the Studio/K restaurant, young chefs will be preparing sustainable and seasonal dishes, using local ingredients and putting theory into practice.
The program includes over 20 films, 12 seminars and 7 special events.
