COMBINED STATEMENT BY DIRECTOR OF CINETECA DI BOLOGNA GIAN LUCA FARINELLI AND PRESIDENT OF SLOW FOOD ITALIA ROBERTO BURDESE

Italy - 17 Mar 10

Cineteca di Bologna and Slow Food announce with deep regret that the Slow Food on Film Festival will not take place in 2010. A painful announcement, given only now, despite already discouraging signs over past few months, because the two major promoters of the festival tried every avenue to find financial resources for realizing Slow Food on Film. During the two editions in Bologna, where the festival moved after the original events in Bra, Slow Food on Film promoted a new critical consciousness about food culture, with feature films, documentaries and TV programs that proposed a different way of thinking about food, agriculture and gastronomic memory as a treasure to preserve. Cineteca di Bologna and Slow Food, having embarked together on this journey that combines the worlds of cinema and food with a fresh approach, will not abandon their objectives and will soon set to work on the new edition of Slow Food on Film 2011.
