Slow Food is committed to stop land grabbing in every form, with all of its 1,500 local convivia and its international projects, like the Presidia and Thousand Gardens in Africa. The Terra Madre network, launched by Slow Food in 2004, welcomed some communities struck by the phenomenon, like the Karrayu shepherds from Fantalle District, Ethiopia.
In Colombia, Slow Food Bogotá Centro Convivium is part of a coalition against land grabbing, the Coalición Nacional Contra el Acaparamiento.

Terra Madre communities protest against Madagascan land grab
In 2009 Slow Food supported the Malagasy communities’ protest against Daewoo and circulated the petition “Petition halte aux expulsions des familles malgaches et a l’accaparement des terres a Madagascar”.
Stop land grabbing now - The Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity joined forces with a coalition of organizations, including Via Campesina, FIAN, Land Research Action Network and GRAIN to protest against land grabbing and to denounce its support by the World Bank (WB).
